Destiny 2 The Final Shape’s launch took over the gaming world with a new raid, a new system, and a bunch of new missions.

Destiny 2 is a game with so many expansion packs that you’ll forget the original game.

Now, it’s 2024, and we have seen one of the biggest expansions that has forever changed the FPS game. The new expansion introduces us to a raid, a finale mission, and many secrets that we would never expect.

So, let’s take a deep dive into this expansion and cover if it’s really worth buying or is it a waste of money.

The Campaign – An Unexplainable Experience

Bungie.net did an amazing job on this expansion, starting right from the Campaign.

This time, the narrative is focused on three main Vanguard members along with a new Crow. These characters are all in addition to our Guardian.

In the campaign, we see Cayde, who appeared in the original 2014 title, appear meaningful and fun. Moreover, in the campaign, we see some of the most exciting missions even if they’re a bit slow.

The final two missions are quite adrenaline-pumping and would keep you only wanting for more. However, just when you thought the game would end, you would unlock a finale mission, something that I was mesmerized by to the deepest core.

The Finale Mission

This mission is easily the best moment to even happen in Destiny 2.

This includes the rush of every NPC we’ve ever played the mission with and the first 12 Guardian’s assault on The Witness, causing ultimate chaos in the game.

From getting relic weapons to some of the most soul-wrenching action scenes, you will get an experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen. But as you say goodbye to the expansion, you are then greeted with a cut scene. This cut scene is otherworldly.

We see Cayde’s sacrifice to revive our ghost, which is the most emotional moment in the game, and Crow’s promotion to Hunter Vanguard.

All of these events would just make you sad as you say goodbye to one of the best experiences of a lifetime.

Prismatic System

Prismatic is a new system that fuses all our Guardian powers and is a breeze to play with.

By combining two perks at once, I have not taken it off from any job class as it is just fun to play. The creative potential of combining skills and evolving them is just far too fun to just leave.

But honestly, his system allowed me to improve further in the game, which is why The Final Shape has been one of the best experiences in terms of Destiny 2 expansions.

The Raid

Oh, man! How am I even going to start with this one?

Easily one of the best raids Bungie has ever made, this one will have you struggling everywhere. The raid was quite creative, with an encounter with one of the most mechanically technical things we’ve ever seen.

The raid will push you to learn strategies before winning because it’s not accessible to an average player.

Delivering the most impressive raid was their goal and they absolutely delivered.

The Pale Heart & The Exotic Mission

The Pale Heart is an aesthetically pleasing location with some of the most horrific vibes. But more than playing, I would say that I took more screenshots than I have ever done in my life, and the visuals just overthrew the gameplay.

Lastly, we have the Exotic Mission, where players did a Whisper-like patrol quest to unlock the secret mission called Dual Destiny. This would be used to get new exotic class items.

Final Verdict

Our final thoughts?

This expansion is one of the best things to ever happen to Destiny 2, and it provides an experience unlike anything fans have ever seen.

If I were to give it a rating, it would be 10 out of 10 from the gameplay and the emotions side.
